Can I Put Off My Chimney Repair?
We would recommend not procrastinating on home exterior repairs.
It is very important to tackle any potential problem before it becomes a serious issue with serious costs.
A broken chimney can allow rain the other elements to hurt not only the outside, but the inside of your house.
It can also affect the overall insulation of your home and therefore your energy bills.
Chimney Repair Tips
Check your chimney - before anything else, do a thorough check of your chimney once a year (also check if you need any roof repairs while you are up there). Look for nesting birds, cracks, excessive crumbling, and the overall brick health.
Check your chimney top - to assure the cap is in place and not cracked, loose, or broken. If you do not have one, we would highly recommend it to keep out animals, and for the overall wear of your chimney.
Clean any debris out - a great way to prep any repair is to simply remove the broken bricks and mortar. You can use your hands to gently pull out small pieces. Make sure the chimney is stable.
Remove larger broken materials - by using a brick chisel and hammer to get rid of lodged pieces of crack brick. It is a sooty job, so wear protective clothing, and be very careful not to hurt the stable bricks or you might do more harm than good. It is necessary to clean the area in need of repair.
Clean the repair site - because you need to clean work space to ensure everything goes properly. Sweep away any soot and dust. Then use a soaked sponge to wet the area (which will also ensure the mortar will bond to the old brick).
Repair your brick - by laying mortar in even layers. If you are tucking mortar joints, then you will need to take a large trowel, hold the mortar directly beneath the mortar joint, and rake& pack the mortar into the joint using a small tuck pointer.
Clean the area - thoroughly, since any irregularities can trap dust and debris, while also becoming a welcoming space for animal infestations.

Just read what some of the past families have said about our services:
"I have to admit, I was a little nervous when I realized we needed to get our roof replaced.
We had just moved into the home and didn't realize how old the roof was. Also, I had never actually gotten roof repair or replacement work done, so I really didn't know what to expect.
One of my friends said that they used KangaRoof recently and were happy with them, so we decided to give them a shot, and MAN did they make the process easy.
The representative came to our home and had a look, provided an estimate of the cost, and an estimate of the amount of time it would take.
He answered all of our questions very patiently, and we started the job.
The new roof looks great and I couldn't be any happier. I now tell anybody that asks me to go with KangaRoof. Thanks guys!"
